HP ScanJet 2200&2300c not detected by SANE or Drakconf

I use Mandrake 10, but I can't install the HP scanject 2300c nor 2200. the xsane said there's no device and drakconf dont't detect, too, the scanner. But, a few time ago I istalled mandrake 10 and the scanner was detected, like in mandrake 9.1.
What can I do?

configure it manualy...

sane won't detect your scanner unless your root. (Try it) You need to give your user permission to use that port... if you find out how to do that tell me... please... please i've had this problem ever since i got linux

But that doesn't mean you are going to get it working. They say the hp scanjet 2300 is unsupported.

According to this site the 2300c isn't supported, but the 2200c is supported in the current sane-backends tarball as per this site.

I already solve de problem. I install the packages sane-frontends and sane backends from fedora core 2 packages and the scanner 2200c works fine.
