How to visualize the GS Graphic Window with Mandriva Linux
Hi everybody,
I'm a new user of this group, and a new Post Script student, too. I'm learning how to program with PS, especially how to draw graphics and functions. For this reason I use Ghost Script everyday, but I use both Windows and Linux and, with the last one and GS I have some problems. Actually, in MS Windows everytime I start GS I see a terminal window and a graphic window, where I can see how the graphic commands act, although in Mandriva Linux, if I run gs from the linux prompt in a kde terminal, I only see the GS prompt but the graphic window is Not displayed!! I really need this last one but how can I make it appear in Linux?! (Note: using SuSe Linux the 2 windows both appear!!!!) Hoping somebody will reply me as soon as possible, I wanna thank you all for the time you have given me. See you, Roberto (Italy) |
Hi
I only used gs a couple of times and that was a long time ago so sorry if this is a dumb thing to ask. Anyway, my question to you would be, are you sure you've set the correct output device? i.e. what is the default device reported when you type Code:
gs -? Code:
gs -sDEVICE=x11 Hope this at least gives you a few pointers. Ian |
