how to urpmi.addmedia mandrake 10.1 cd4 and cd5?

hello world,

i just downloaded mandrake 10.1 community cds 4 and 5. i'm now trying to add this to my media sources (urpmi.addmedia). i was already able to do it with cds 1 to cd but somehow i'm stuck with how to do it for cds 4 and 5.

i also noticed that there's no hdlist.cz file on cds 4 and 5. there are, however, several synthesis.hdlist.cz files under the directories. what's the difference between hdlist and synthesis.hdlist files? is it similar to hdlist.cz?

any help would be appreciated.

Your best bet is to utilize the "software media Manager" from the menu.

This is basically a gui to urpmi.addmedia which is far simpler to use.

Point it to the RPM subdirectories and it will by default read any existing .cz files either within the RPM subdirectories or in ../base

problem now is how to update to kde 3.3 but that would be another thread...
