how to get the source for my kernel and install it


in order for me to install my graphic driver (which is what i have to do to get opengl) i have to have the source for my kernel downloaded and installed.

how do i do this?

i have mandrake 10.1
and it comes with kernel 2.6.8

Basically you don't do ANYTHING.

If your video card is sufficient to support 3D, then the drivers will support the opengl libs which are automatically installed initially.

To get your kernel source, go to your Mandrake Control Center -> software -> install

Then search for kernel-source

check the box

click the install button

insert the CD's that it asks you to enter

you're set, or at least should be.
