How to put my laptop into suspend/hybernate under Mdk 10.1

I have a dual boot XP and MDK 10.1 Community. Under WinXP I can put my laptop into hybernate mode without shutting it down, but under Linux it does not seem to work. Any ideas how to do this? Is there a command I can pass to suspend without shutting it down? Thanks.

You may try

urpmi swsusp

or check the swsuspend status on sourceforge.

As of yet software suspend in not quite ready for prime time though it's getting there.
