I still have to dual boot with windows. There are still a lot of things that don't work right or work better in windows.

Like the windows versions of yahoo is so much better than anything in linux.

Linux will get there soon i believe..

kopete doesn't work with yahoo

I believe the original complaint was Kopete won't work with Yahoo, but we got off on a tangent about urpmi. In the end the guy installed another software, Gaim, and everyone forgot about Kopete. I have Kopete 0.8.0 already installed on Mandrake 10 and it won't take my yahoo account just as the original message in this tread. Does anyone know why Yahoo won't work on Kopete?

Hi

I am the one who opened this thread. Well frankly I haven't been able to figure out why Kopete didn't work but yeah GAIM is able to solve my problem and I am happy with that.

Thanks
Atul

that's fast

Thanks for the prompt reply. I came back to add that I too install gaim via urpmi. I can't tell what version because there is no help, but when I try to log on I see the window where it tries to connect but then almost instantly another window opens to tell me it has been disconnected with small text saying "unable to read". An offer to reconnect on that screen gets the same response. I just simply enter my username like "kicker77" and the password. isn't that all there is to it?

Thanks

Jack
