i think you need an anymous ftp (in your home network).

I tried once but ran into problem, i think it was the windows based ftp server that caused it.

grey,

To install from a FTP you first have to find a ftp server to use. This will allow you to download a boot.iso file. The boot.iso is only about 20-30 MBs, so downloading and burning it to a CDR is fast. Then put the boot cd you just created into the computer you want to install Linux on and turn it on. Make sure to set you first boot device as CD-Rom in BIOS.

The FTP server will also let you download all the packages needed for your system.

Now, I'm sure you thinking: "Okay, this sounds easy. Whats a ftp site I can use?" Unfortunately, I don't know any off-hand. I actually am looking for one myself. I'd like to upgrade a Mandrake 9.2 box to Mandrake 10.0.
