It should be available. Search for mysql or MySQL using the package installer.

I'm not sure what you mean here becaused I managed to install it on my system using urpmi. Mandriva has always shipped MySQL on its 3 disc set. If you install from the Mandriva One discs, then many server packages will not be available due to space restriction.

I checked the DVD here, and it has only the client package, so if the DVD was used for installation, the MySql server package will not be available. I think the best solution is to set up both Distribution and Updates sources in media manager which will set up both main, contrib, and updates sources or go to easy urpmi and follow the directions there to set up both official and plf sources.

I have check your post and blog but unfortunately cann't find answer i need because i installed Mandriva Linux 2007 from DVD but is free version. Due to the size of DVD, does't not have any space to allocate anymore packages except the normal packages.

I am sorry. I must have been tired when I made that last post. The mysql server package is not included with the DVD due to space limitations.

You can set up Internet media sources for the official Mandriva Linux 2007.0 with urpmi, and these will work correctly in either urpmi or the GUI Package Manager (Install, Remove & Update Software). I have provided direction to help others on my blog.

After you set up the full set of media sources, you will have access to all the software packages provided by Mandriva for Mandriva Free 2007.0 (official). If you also set up the plf sources, you will have the proprietary packages and non-free software (packaged for use with Mandriva 2007.0) as well.

HTH,

Peter_APIIT,

There are no 'stupid questions other than those we do not ask.

There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity:
Ignorance is the absence of understanding.
Stupidity is the refusal to overcome ignorance.
