how to get Spring to cd

Hi,

I've just downloaded Spring One and I have 8 files in my Home, download, panel. How do I now transfer all these to a CD disc, please.

It's probably under my nose but I can't see a command at all.

You only need to burn the .iso file to disk. Set your burner to "burn image to disk". Do not copy the files to the CD. Before burning the image it's advisable to check its md5sum, using the .md5 file that is probably one of those that you downloaded.

It would be helpful if you would post the file names of the eight files you downloaded so we can help you correctly identify which file you should burn to the disk. If you have downloaded more than one .iso file (a file whose name ends with ".iso"), please also tell us which language you intend to use on your computer.

Thank you,

Thanks for the replies: I have eight files on the download panel:

no 1: Mandriva no 2: mandriva-linux. one -2010-sp

no 3: mandriva-linux. one-2010-spr

the other five are the same as no 2.

I used a torrent to download if it makes any difference.

bittorent clients check integrity of the file so checking md5 again is redundant.

The only file that gets burned is the *.iso file.
The *.md5 and *.sha1 are for checking integrity of the *.iso file. Don't worry about the others as they are only informational.

It is important to verify that the burn was properly completed so check the verify option on the burner software.

JICYDK, there is no reason to burn a disc to install Mandriva as it can be done using the *.iso file that you have. The simple explanation is to just point the installer to the *.iso and it will use it to install.
The specifics are a bit too long to put here.
SEE http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Docs/Ins...r_the_Internet for info if interested.

Okay, the iso is now burnt successfully. I think what confused me is that none of the 8 images showed .iso.

Many, many thanks for your help.

I don't think that can be done with a live CD (ONE) iso, which it seems, is what the OP has.

I forgot that Windows likes to hide the file extensions of known file types (by default). That is something I always change when I install Windows on a computer here (I have to use Windows for my on-line classes - American education is a bit backward that way).

Honestly, I do not know - never tried it. The "One" can be installed to HDD and it's an ISO so I presumed it would not matter.

Doesn't matter this thread iguess since a CD was burned.
