How to boot with 2 hard drives

I am running Mandrake 9.1 as my primary system but i've got another hd that has windows me on it. When i have the mandrake hd plugged in the boot loader just gives me the options for linux but i want it to pick up the secondary hd with windows so that i don't have to unplug the mandrake hd everytime my wife wants to use windows. Any help?

1) What bootloader do you use?

2) How are your hardisks setup? I mean do you use both as master hd's and switch every time or when running mdk is the mdk-hd master and the windows slave (or whatever)?

3) Have you tried messing around with the bootloader settings from Mandrake Control Center?

Hate to say this but if you had both harddisks plugged in when you installed mandrake the mandrake setup would have detected windows and added a menu entry to the bootloader.

Don't dispair I think this should be solvable...

re

I am using LILO under mandrake. My windows hd is my slave drive. In the Mandrake control center at the boot loader config i can't find what would give me the option to add the second drive. I already had mandrake installed and just installed windows on the other drive last night so it couldn't have picked up the hd during my mandrake install.

try drakboot, either launch it from a terminal window or find it in the control center in system if I remember well.

It should launch a lilo configuration tool so that you can add your window hdd.

You need to add an appropriate entry to lilo.conf for Windows - when both drives are plugged in post the contents of:

fdisk -l
