How should I partition my drive??

I have a 9.0 gig harddrive with mandrake linux on it. What is the best or recommended way to partion a drive of this size. I have 384 mb ram.

It depends upon the computer's use.

# Linux filesystem structure

Proper Filesystem Layout

For a home desktop/learning box, I recommend

/boot - 50 MB
swap - 512 mb
/ - 3.5 GB
/home - the rest of the drive
