How set Opera as default browser for Mandriva 2008 PowerPack?

Hello.
I'm a newbie in Linux.
I just intalled Mandriva Linux 2008.
FireFox is a default browser but I prefer Opera (I like gesture mouse

) so I wanna set Opera as default browser.
Please, help me.

Sorry, my English isn't so good. It isn't my native laguage.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

To get an accurate response, can you let us know whether you are using GNOME or KDE as your desktop environment.

In the meantime, there is also an environment variable which you can place in your ~/.bashrc for those few programs that recognise it.

Code:

export BROWSER=opera

EDIT: these are the programs that always open a different browser to the one you set in your desktop settings.
