how? install from LOCAL ftp server?
Hi all,
I have a PC that has a CDROM that appears to read/boot only small ISO's (e.g. MORPHIX-lite, boot.img for Mandrake etc.) I would like to use boot.img for Mandrake to boot and install from a local FTP server (hosted on my main desktop -- which is running Mandrake 10.1 OE). Can I simply setup proftp and copy the contents of CD1 to a folder such as: /home/me/mdk10.1 Then copy the rpm's from the remaining two CD's (which are typically located in main2, main3 folders in the CD's) into: /home/me/mdk10.1/media/main Would the above approach work? -Thas PS: I would create a boot CD using boot.img which is found in CD1 indicated above. |
Yes it would work fine.
Note: if you have the two machines available to you, wouldn't temporarily swapping the drive be faster? |
