how do I read a pdf file

I don't know whats happened using 9.2 on a notebook.

I was sure I could read a pdf file by clicking on the konqueor windows ikon.

I did an update of all fixes, etc and wonder have I reset something.

Which application reads a pdf file. I tried openoffice but cannot get that to read the file, it
asks for a filter, but I cannot see a pdf listed?

Openoffice exports to pdf one would have thought it could read a pdf.

Does Staroffice 6.0 read a pdf, can anybody help?

hi!
"kghostview" or "xpdf" can read pdf documents.

You may visit KDE-control-center to associate .pdf files to the program you like by default
(you, also could do it in konqueror, under "preferences" menu)
Regards

Thanks for your great help. I loaded the xpdf from the Man9.2 dvd via the MCC packages.

I found that the konqueror restored pdf reading without any extra work.

I note that kghostview and xpdf have appeared under applications-publishing.

I think that somehow these had been erased with Mandrake upgrade. Anyone, found this
problem before?

No, but Adobe has their pdf available for linux. I use all three each has support for different fonts. Adobe will read some while the other will read what adobe wont and vice-versa.
