How do I get rid of that annoying disco music?

Well just as the title suggests, I don't like the music that KDE 3.4/Mandriva 2006 plays at bootup. How do I change it or stop it altogether?

Good god, I thought disco died in the 70's....

You can change the startup sound in the kde control centre. Go to look and feel and then system notifications. You should be able to follow your nose from there.

If you want to be able to add more sounds to choose from, you will have to add more .wav sound files to the /usr/share/sounds directory.

There are plenty of sounds and in fact entire sound themes to be found at kdelook.

Cheers

Someone tell mandriva that Soul Train called and they want their theme music back.
