If I understand your question correctly, you want to know how to remove the Wireless Network driver, then install it again (something many need to do from time to time in Windows) when there is a problem with the connection. If I am wrong, please post back to correct me .

Mandriva provides GUI tools to help you do that even though it is seldom necessary (I have never had to do it here).

Open MCC (Tools > System Tools > Configure your computer in the menu system).

Select Network & Internet in the Category List (left).

Open the Network Center icon (main pane) in the Manage your Network devices section.

You should see an item for Wireless (WiFi) with a description of the configured wireless device. If the connection is active (connected), the circular icon at the left will be green. If the connection is inactive (not connected), it will be orange. If the icon is orange, expand the Wireless (WiFi) item by clicking on the arrow at the left. Click the Connect button at the right to connect.

If the Connect button is not available (grey), close theNetwork Center.

Open the Remove a connection icon (below the Network Center icon in the Manage your Network devices section.

Under Select the network interface to remove:, click the Net device drop-down list control to select your wireless connection (usually wlan0: . . .) if it is not already displayed.

Click the Next button at the bottom-right.

A message (Congratulations, the "wlan0" network interface has been successfully deleted) will be displayed.

Click the Finish button at the bottom-right to close the Remove a connection applet.

At this point, you can open the Set up a new network interface (LAN, ISDN, ADSL, ...) icon (top of the right column on my system) to install the wireless connection again.

HTH,

thank you ernie, you are 100% right what I wanted mean. I am having this problem with the wireless network after I change the router configuration at home. I posted this because I wanted to remove and re install it again, I followed your post but I noticed that didn't work. Is curious because when I tried to install it the control panell ask me "select the network interface: "Atheros commu.. or use window driver" I selected "Atheros Commu.." that's on my laptop, and clicked next, now the control panel ask me "select the network", before when I installed mandriva there were two alternatives but now appear only one "unlisted, edit manually", click next and I entry all the settings but when I tried to search for wireless connection there are not devices, look like the package is not there any more. how can I solve this, how can I insatall this package from mandriva again with rmp or is the problem.

thank you for your help in advantage
