Help! ?Bypass the auto-login?

okay, first off, i know i screwed up. I installed Beryl on my Mandriva 2007 system according to

more or less, and everything was okay... the nifty ia ora theme wasn't the same minus the window decoration, but everything was quicker... anyway, i guess i played around with the beryl settings too much, because the window decoration dissappeared and when i restarted it hung, (and continues to hang), at startup. so i can't login to reset to default, so my next move would be to login as root and copy my home directory/delete the user account/ and add a new account-copy the home directory. It is set to autologin as the user though and i don't know what to do.

You can use the CD to boot into rescue mode.
