Booting Mandriva 2007 from live CD keeps on freezing

I have downloaded Mandriva 2007 live CD.

First time I have booted it upitworked well. I have set all infos that setupa sked me(timezones,language... 3D enviorment). And then I have shut it down.

When I tried to boot it up again, half an hour later it didn't work anymore. I ahve noticed that booting freezes at point after HAL daemon. It says "OK"for HAL daemon but then system just stops booting from CD. CD rom and diks stop working...system frozen .

I really like Mandrivait lokos amazing and I want to finally go from Windows to linux but situations like this doesn't help.

Can anyone help me...please...

Did you install on the hard drive, or are you running from the live CD?
How much RAM in your machine?
If you have not already installed it, can you try that?

Thanky you for reply.

I have 512 Mb of RAMon my PC.

And Iam booting it fromlive Cd, I do not have it installed on my hard drive.
I also don't know why it worked normally first time and now it just won't.

Do you have some ideaswhat might be wrong?

Not really...I do know that there can be startup delays with Linux when---for example--it decides that the filesystem needs to be checked. Hard to see how that would apply in this case.
Dirt or scratches on the CD could be a factor..
you might try waiting to see if it eventually starts and then look at the logs for clues.
