Try MythTV. First goto http://easyurpmi.zarb.org and follow the instructions there. Then menu->System->Configuration->Packaging->Install Software and search for 'mythtv' (without the quotes).
The libmyth package is in the same repository as the mythtv package itself so it should work. Try removing the PLF sources (menu->System->configuration->Packaging->Software Media Manager) and re-adding them from the easyurpmi site. Alternatively you can just go to the URL of the PLF repository (see the commands the easyurpmi site generates, or the Software Media Manager) and download the files with your web browser, but you shouldn't have to do that.
ndiswrapper is for network cards... so that won't apply here... You should really try the advice you give people on your system first to see if it will actually work before saying something that's potentially stupid.

Mandriva uses xorg now so the file is /etc/X11/xorg.conf. The Mandriva X configuration program is in the Mandrake Control Centre under Hardware->Change Screen Resolution. It can also be run from the command line as
Code:
/usr/sbin/XFdrake
if you break X windows. Xorg comes with xorgconfig as its configuration program, although its a lot more basic than the Mandriva one.
