having both gnome and kde installed on mandrake 10.1 official
hi folks,
i have mandrake 10.1 official (download edition), with gnome 2.6. when i boot, i want to choose either gnome or kde. right now, kde is not installed on the system. in urpmi, i searched for "kde" and a lot of entries came up. one of them was kdebase-3.2.3-128. when i selected that, a lot more dependent packages came up, telling me that i had to install them too. so is this how i go about installing kde? and after installing kde, i dont want gnome to be removed from my system. i want both, and be able to choose each time i boot.
last thing, i have created a lot of launchers for different programs in the gnome system tray, and i dont want to lose them. (and ofcourse, i dont want to lose any data thats mainly in my /home partition).
is this kind of setup possible?
thanx,
guy.
