Question Has this ever happend? Load Error

Hello,
Me again.. No one seems to help here are the tech specs of m pc. It is a P4 2.1 GHZ GeForce FX 256Meg Video card, Santa Cruz Turtle Beach 5.1 and finally it has 768 megs of RAM. I am not sure why the offical will not load correctly. It goes through all of the start up process. I am putting it on an older 10 Gig hard drive. Dual booting it wih WinXP. LILO works great it goes through all of the stuff I even did the interactive start up and stuff it still did not work. This is quite frustrating I was looking foward to using this OS. It gets to the point where the login screen is suppose to load up but I just get a mouse pointer with the Blue Mandrake 10.1 official background that is blue. I get no error messages and the computer is not locked up. I can still move the mouse pointer but no login box and I can not use the command Alt+f1 to bring up the login box.. I do not have it set to auto login right now at first I though that was a problem so I reinstalled the OS and didn't choose that option. I need some help guy.. I hate to be annoying but This is bothering me. I hate windows and would like to get my 10.1 to work well enough for I can stop using it and use wine/cedega to run everything..

Thanks,

Dustin

Try ctrl+alt+f1 that should get you into a command prompt login. See if you can login.

Also try checking the md5sums of the iso files you downloaded - often weird problems like this are caused by installing of corrupted media.

No keyboard commands worked, I gave up and installed the Fedora Core I had laying around from my Operating Systems class. Getting Fedora Core 3 right now. After trying several things even bring up the command prompt login I gave up. The ISO i downloaded was from here..It was the DVD ISO. I wonder if it has to do with it being the DVD version. My community version was the 3 disc one. I hope the fedora core 3 dvd version screws up too..

Ta ta,

Dustin
