Harddrake2 killing my box due to missing module?
I have just had to replace my mainboard as my previous one suffered from processor weld when the cooling fan failed. So far so good, but when I now run harddrake2, the box freezes for about 5 minutes then switches off. It gives the following error:-
FATAL Module serial not found. But a locate serial shows it at file:/lib/modules/2.6.3-4mdk/kernel/drivers/serial, but as serial_cs.ko.gz. I have updated to the very latest hardrake et al from the Mandy updates to see if this cures the problem, but to no avail. Anyone any ideas? |
OK,
So I renamed the serial_cs.ko.gz to serial.ko.gz. I then ran depmod -a, and now a modprobe serial gives no errors. But running Harddrake just leaves the box sitting at "probing serial devices", until it eventually shuts down. No logs, no errors, just this hanging problem. Now in need of some real expert help. |
I have also re-run the install program, choosing upgrade, and the problem remains. But, if I run as follows:- harddrake2 --testing, then it seems to do much better, i.e. at least it doesnt lock up. Bt I don't know how to enable this switch from within the MCC. Anyone any ideas?
