Halt command.

I logged out of my session and then instead of loggin in again I pressed halt. Now my linux partition opens in a console mode and doesnt even ask in which gui i want to log in.
Can someone help? I'm completely ignorant of linux, just installed mandrake 10.1 a couple of days ago.

It sounds like you are in init 1 mode.

The system stops there in case it needs to fsck the drive(s).

If you see a prompt, but not a login prompt... (e.g. a # sign) hit CTRL-C which should continue the boot or give you more errors.

Report back.

The hd I have mandrake installed on was full (100%) so I just erased some unecessary things and now its ok.
Obviously it has nothing to do with the halt command I just combined the problem with it because I had never used it before and when I did this happened.
