GUI Login problem
I am running Mandrake 10.1 and I changed the login type to gui. When it comes up, there is no option for the user and neither my root password or my two regular account passwords work....Any ideas?
I can boot into failsafe mode so if anyone can tell me how to change the login mode back to terminal through the terminal it would be much appreciated. -Thanks |
hi
to go back to terminal mode open up ur /etc/inittab file put this entry id:5:initdefault: to id:3:initdefault: init level 3 is for non-gui mode and mandrake won't allow u to login in gui with root u need to edit the /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc file where u have the option somewhat like allow rootlogin=false make that to true regards |
Much thanks. Serves me right for trying to simplify things :D
