Grub too long to boot

Hi!
I like the Grub bootloader but it is very long to boot before it shows the menu.

It takes about 40 second in stage 2.5(I think) before it shows the menu.

Lilo gives me the menu right off the bat!

Can someone explain to me why Grubs does that?

Thanks

Richard

Bah, I don't think so, Lilo is very fast. unless Lilo uses a different way of loading it's menu.

Cheers

lilo is comparatively fast but the think is not so portable and is becoming obsolete...
