grub problem

i am not getting any response about this in newbie folder so i am posting this here

well i installed mandrake , the gui wasnt working

i removed the partition of mandrake and made it again and isntall mandrake again

rememember i have windows also installed on my main partition

then what happens it starts showing the grub command prompt i dont know what do from there

i insert windows xp cd and go in rescue mode and type fixmbr and then it comes to windows now

now i go to mandrake rescue option and install the boot loader but it still goes to windows

so how to install grub or lilo now without having to delete the whole partition then installing all mandrake again?
