Graphical Boot

I used to have a graphic boot (Loading bar instead of the loading modules). However, I had some problems and had to reinstall lilo. Now, even when lilo starts in graphic mode (You get to select the OS you want to boot within a nice blue interface), the computer starts booting with the regular verbose mode in a black background.

What can I do to fix this? (I'm using Mandrake 9.2)

Thank you very much

I restarted lilo with this config file.

Code:
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
vga=normal
default="Linux"
keytable=/boot/us.klt
prompt
nowarn
timeout=100
message=/boot/message
menu-scheme=wb:bw:wb:bw
image=/boot/vmlinuz
        label="Linux"
        root=/dev/hda5
        initrd=/boot/initrd.img
        append="devfs=mount hdc=ide-scsi splash=silent"
        vga=788
        read-only
other=/dev/hda2
        label="Windows"
        table=/dev/hda

i just compared yours to mine and it looks pretty similiar, have you got the package bootsplash installed? I also know sometimes if you chane something with your XF86Config-4 file it may remove the splash for some reason...

Are you looking for bootsplash? Did your system used to have a fancy GUI loader after you selected your OS at the Lilo prompt? The bootsplash thing is part of your initrd (initial ram disk) and I believe the package comes with a nice installer. Check your install CDs for the bootsplash programme - or download it from their site.

I have the same prob, except that I didn't have this problem because of a lilo reinstall.
I have the bootsplash package installed.
I think it may comes from the Xfree thing that euqinox pointed out. How can I correct this ?
If you find a solution, please tell me.
Thanks
