Gnome Login and Logout

I switched to the gnome environment and have a problem. When I logged out I accidentally told it to save my current state while I had the root privilages icon in the system tray, now when I log in the splash screen hangs at "notification icon" until I click on it, then it goes away. Then when I try to log out I get no response for like 2 minutes, or until I bring up software manager or something that requires me to enter the root password. Anybody have any suggestions on how I could clear that "saved session" so it doesn't screw with my login and logut process?

Problem solved, I found the session manager and deleted the one named "default" and fixed the problem.
