Getting sound in a 10.0 install?

Hello, wanted to know, because I am not an experienced linux user, what sound support is availabe in 10.0 and what I need to do to get the onboard CS4236 sound working on this Dell tower I have it intalled on.

Harddrake does not detect the chip, and I understand OSS is not developed anymore? Do I go with ALSA? DO I have to install or just activate? or is it there and I just dont know it?

ps -a will bring up a list of services, see if alsa is running. if not you may need to install / enable it (can be done in mandrake control)

once its installed / enabled you can try 'alsaconf' to set it up
