Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're looking for but the latest gd lib package (libgd2) in 2005LE is version 2.0.33 which is the latest gd according to the gd site.

urpmq -i libgd2
Name : libgd2
Version : 2.0.33
Release : 3mdk
Group : System/Libraries
Size : 495023 Architecture: i586
Summary : A library used to create PNG, JPEG, or WBMP images
