freak squid auth problem

Hello,
My server is on Mandrake 10.1 off.
eth0 is WAN with static IP connected 512 DSL
eth1 is LAN.

I am using squid with NSCA auth.

I type my user name and password and
I login.

Now I do the same thing but to my regular
password I add a letter or number extra and
I am still able to login .

Infact you can add any number of extra
characters to your password and it will
login.

Why does it allow that ?

Thanks

Varun
