fluxbox

I tell ya, I'm having a hell of a time getting fluxbox to work over here. All I've found is fluxbox.*.rpm.src. I wouldn't have a problem wiht it, but it says I need all the XFree stuff. So like the trooper I am, I go and DL this stuff. I try to rpm it, and I've got conflicts coming out of my yin-yang. Anybody have fluxbox running in 10.0? If so, HOW???? I use it at school and love it compared to clunky ol' KDE. Not a huge fan of Blackbox, mostly cause I can't tab between windows.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you installing it with urpmi?

as root, urpmi fluxbox

If it's not being found, try setting up servers as from http://www.urpmi.org/easyurpmi/index.php

I´m using fluxbox in 10.0. Just use the 0.9.8 development version from cooker sources, you can install it with urpmi and it works great for me at least :)

I DL'd the 0.9.8 .rmp.src and tried the urpmi as root and I got this error:

Some package requested cannot be installed:
fluxbox-0.9.8-2.src (due to unsatisfied xft-devel) (Y/n)

clicking either one exits back to the prompt. I don't know what I'm still missing. I would think that my X stuff would be up to date, since I'm running KDE, but I'm still new to this game so I don't know for sure.

Any suggestions??

Urpmi will download the Mandrakized version for you. Don't try to use the vanilla fluxbox version.

the package you need is: fluxbox-0.9.8-1mdk.i586.rpm, you can find it in the mandrakedevel RPMS2 (contrib) directory. If you have that source configured you can just type urpmi fluxbox and it will install all the needed dependencies too
