Unhappy floppy problem


i am using mandrake linux.i mounted floppy.i have two users.i my user desktop there is a shortcut to floppy device.when open i have problem.that is,
"The file or folder /mnt/floppy does not exist"
i thing there is no enough permission to read and write to floppy,how can i change the permission?same problem for cdrom also.please help me.

check your /etc/fstab for a /mnt/floppy . . . then make sure you have this on the options on the right, but not after the numbers on the right:

users

Just be sure you have a comma after whatever is already there and it should all look like this:

/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto users,noauto 0 0

Do the same thing for your cdrom, and hope that helps.

sir,i have different,my /etc/fstab/ file is here,

/dev/hda2 / ext3 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
/dev/hda6 /home ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850,noauto,ro,exec 0 0
none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,sync,codepage=850 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0
so what will be the problem sir..
