Firewall and Office
Hi, still very raw with Linux so be gentle with me! Do people use a firewall and if so what would you recomend? I've looked through the packages in the software manager but can't find one in there.
Also I prefer MS Office to Open Office, I guess the answer is probably no but is there an emulator or an application anywhere that I can use to run Office 2003 under Linux? Thanks for any help Paul |
Hello!
For the firewall: in Mandrake Control Center you can choose to activate a firewall on your computer. If it is not already installed it will ask for install CD (or DVD) or get the package from a repository (depending on your urpmi-settings). For using M$ office on a linux machine, take a look att Crossover office from CodeWeavers |
Thanks for that, just what I was looking for.

I've checked out Crossover Office but unfortunately the only version it doesn't support is Office 2003, which as luck would have it is the version I have:rolleyes:
Does anyone know of a similar application that does support 2003? Thanks again Paul |
