Firefox Default Browser (thunderbird)

I've tried everything related already available in this forum, and failed :D

I have Firefox installed in /home/federico/Programs/firefox

what should I do to make thunderbird open new links in tabs and not in another window?

oh, as a sidenote... I'm a total linux newbie :D

If I understand this correctly you want to take links that you may get in an email (in Thunderbird) and have them open in a new tab in Firefox?

I don't think there is a direct manner to do this from Thunderbird but you should be able to open a blank tab in Firefox and then click the link in the email attachment.

I've just solved this myself from a post on the mozillazine forums. Give me a minute while I go look up the thread.

Jeez. They have a terrible search form over there. Here is the thread where someone posts a shell script that solves this: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=72353

Did you follow the direction in this specific post? http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewto...t=72353#501848

Make sure you're editing that script to point to where you've installed FF.

yes, but mozilla-xremote-client was already in the firefox dir...

do I have to overwrite ?

also, that chmod does not confirm I've done anything...
I just type that, press enter and nothing seems to happen...

I can't remember if I overwrote mine or not. Change it's name and copy the other one in there. If anything explodes, change it back.
