Question Firefox 0.9 rpm for mandrake 10

Can anyone point me to an rpm for Firefox 0.9? I am using the mandrake 10 official download version. I have found some for other distributions, but I am unsure of what I can use with mandrake 10. I have heard that redhat rpms work pretty well with mandrake, but the only rpm for firefox 0.9 that I have found sofar is for Suse version 9.something.

thanks in advance for any help.

has a very simple installer... Are you having problems installing it... or do you just want an rpm?

I installed firefox the olf fashioned way on madrake 9.1 and I had problems with it. So I was looking for an rpm hoping to get an idiot proof install. But if you have installed it on mandrake 10.0 using the info provided on the firefox webpage and have not had any problems, then I am willing to give it a shot.

Are you using firefox 0.9 on madrake 10.0?

Yes, I am. This link gets you a tarball which has an installer: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.o...staller.tar.gz

im using it with no problems at all. just untar the package, then there is an install script. run it, it asks you were to install, click agree to the license.. then it installs.. done.

Extract the tarball and run the installer like so:

tar -xzvf firefox-0.9-i686-linux-gtk2+xft.tar.gz
cd firefox-0.9-i686-linux-gtk2+xft/
./firefox-installer

thats it

Cool Good to go!

I installed firefox from the tarball using some of the instructions provided in this forum, and everything seems to be working well.

Thanks for the help.

There is a redhat rpm at
http://download.fedora.us/fedora/fed...fdr.3.i386.rpm
but i don't know if it will work w/ mandrake 10. I'm clean installing it right now so I could test it in about 15 min.
