Hi there, I am running LE2005 with KDE 3.4 all has been working fine for months, but today, every time I try to delete a file using a GUI file manager or copy a file I get a box pop up saying
The process for the file protocol died unexpectedly
I dont think I have chaged any config options or anything, and I cant seam to fix it,
Well I formatted the /root patition and re installed 2006 Beta 1 and it still wont work.
That could be because the configuration files are stored in the home folder of the account.
You can try as root(copying or deleting through konqueror), if you dont get that error(which would be likely) you can try deleting the folder where your konqueror configuration files are stored(They should be restored the next time you start konqueror).
Ok, I launched konqueror as root, and as you said, it gave no errors.
So as root I removed the folder ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/ and rebooted.
Upon reboot, when I launched konqueror I was greeted with the same error again. I have taken a SS of it, here; hxxp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/English_Man/snapshot4.png
Just want to make sure, did you remove root's konqueror folder or the user's??
you can remove it(the user's konqueror folder) with regular user's permission.
