There's some documentation at Mandrake's homepage http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/fdoc.php3, available in pdf or html. Linux documentation is almost on every Linux related site. I think you should check out http://www.linux.org, but if you still won't be satisfied then try to search at http://www.google.com/linux it's always works for me. :)

For documentation I always look to the Linux Documentation Project: www.tldp.org

If you are looking for a page that shows the actual Linux directory tree, where you can click on each directory to find out the useage and purpose of each directory go here:
http://www.linuxforum.com/linux-filesystem.php

If you are looking for a file manager program similar to the dual pane windoze explorer try out Krusader, not installed by default, must install rpm.

That link Lakota posted is good information on the directory structure. Also, I believe that with Mandrake atleast, there are three paritions created by default during the installation. One for /, one for /home and one for the swap partitoin. Every directory except for /home and swap will reside on the same partition as the root directory. You can customize, resize and add partitions almost any way you want with the advaced or expert option if you don't like the default options.
