eth0 - eth9 devices getting clobbered

Running Mandrake 8.2 on an IBM Thinkpad. On reboot the eth
devices get clobbered and modprobe hangs forever. Can anyone
suplly me with the major/minor number of these devices so I
can recreate them? Can anyone shed light on why this is happening. Thanks ...............................

What your telling me is that your network cards (nics) are takeing a long time to config on boot up. You mention in the header eth0 - eth9. How many nics do you have installed?
