Eterm Issue

Alright I am attempting to make my Eterm Transparent so I have made a script to do so. The script looks like this:

Eterm --trans -x --scrollbar=0 --buttonbar=0 --shade=7 --geometry=80x32+510+20 --foreground-color=green

I have place the file in /usr/bin and it works just fine except for one small problem. It is transparent only to the wallpaper that was on KDE when I first created the script. So you see the blue stars in the background even if the wallpaper has been changed.

any ideas how to solve this?

Nevermind I figured this one out.

Apparantly the root looks at one image regardless of what you change your wallpaper to. So for it to work right you have to set which image to use the transparency with the following command

Esetroot /usr/share/wallpapers/image.jpg

Or wherever your image might be.

I seem to have figured out how to correct this script. If I put the Esetroot command in the script it works just fine from the Run Command line. However, when I put it in my KDE startup folder it opens up as a text document.

if you are the only user you could add the command
to the script /etc/rc.local or /etc/rc.d/rc.local whichever exists

it is "daft", but sometimes you can add command to your .bashrc.
I have done that before

otherwise there is an .autostart directory I believe, somewhere

maybe add a sh extension to your script (it might help KDE). No idea, never tried
