Error KIOExec

I am getting the following error when I click on either of my CDrom drives.

"Error -KIOExec
Retrieving data from devices is not supported"

I realise I must have done something silly, but could someone point me to
where it is?

I can still access the drives by going to file:/mnt/cdrom or file:/mnt/cdrom2

Hi killgates I am bejamin1 and hve the same problem did you ever get it figured out? If not I am going to try to post it again.

Thanks

I found that this can happen if you accidentally override your file association for inode/directory. I somehow did this when trying to set the association for .asf to xine, and suddenly all directories tried to open in xine which was problematic.

Removing the offending entry from inode/directory in file associations(xine in this case) solved the problem for me.

I have this same problem but don't understand the solution.
Where do I go see &/or modify file associations?

"Error KIOExec" & CD/DVD drives

That's through:
CONTROL CENTER --> KDE COMPONENTS --> FILE ASSOCIATIONS --> AUDIO etc.
But it does not solve the problem for me either. I want to put a CD
and to have it played automatically like with media-player in windoze.

Experienced Linux-ers do not bother to answer our questions though, LoL
