Hey,
I've just downloaded MandrakeLinux 10.1, and everything appears to run fine until it reaches the system installation, where every package fails to install (and you get the option to continue or cancel).
Does anyone know why this might happen?
I personally believe I have a faulty hard-drive, as I have had similar problems with two other Linux distributions now.
- Fedora hangs as soon as it reaches its graphical installation interface.
- Ubunto hangs before it reaches its graphical installation interface.
But I had no problems getting Win98 on, that makes me think it may not be hard-drive problem.
I just want Linux working!
Any ideas before I pull my PC apart again?
I'm currently trying to get hold of Slackware and Mandriva 2007 to see if they work at all.
Thanks,
Andy.
