Epson CX6400 & CX6600 driver problem?

I used an Epson cx6400 with Mandrake 10.1, and had no problems.

Since I switched to Mandriva LE2005, my printer will print what I ask, then seems to hang. It will print the whole print job, but the last page will sit forever without the page ejecting and the printer screen stuck on the "printing" message. Only rectification I've found so far is physically turning off the printer. Just got a Epson CX6600 replacement (had a clogged print head, no magenta). Same issue with the new printer using the CX6400 driver in Mandriva LE2005. Also printed two pics on the new 6600 and they are grainy and less than vivid color compared to the 6400 on Mandrake 10.1, hopefully this is all just a driver issue. Anybody with either of these printers got them running on Mandriva LE2005 with good results?

Hmm, transfered the pic I printed off the hard drive onto an sd card, and printed it with the card in the printers card reader (bypassing using computer). This produced a definitely better quality print than the linux driver did. Still not near as crisp or vivid as the cx6400 printed. I suppose at least having printed straight from the card reader on the printer I now know the photo capability of this printer. I was printing full 8.5 x 11" prints that were photo lab quality on the cx6400, but it seems the cx6600 is printing these same pics at 5 x 7" looking grainy and dull in color.

Ok, I now give up. I have an amazing 8.5 x 11" print on the wall printed with the cx6400. I transfered that same image to the sd card and printed it at 5 x 7" with this new cx6600. The 5 x 7" looks like it was printed on a $30 printer. (This again was done through the printers card reader, bypassing using the computer at all). Suppose I will have to call the warranty center and tell them this replacement printer is not acceptable.
