easy urpmi
I configured Rdrake with the help of the site Easyurpmi.zarb.org.
I ran (as counselled) the instruction
urpmi.removemedia -a
and everything worked, but as a result of this the installation CDs were removed from the list of media in which to look for packages.
How can I do to re-insert them?
I ask this because I need the source of my exact kernel, and I hope they can be maybe in the installation CDs...

Insert your CD#1 in the cdrom then type (as root) :
Code:
# urpmi.addmedia --distrib cdrom removable://mnt/cdrom

If you have configured main, the default kernel that shipped with Mandriva will be in that repo. You can take a look at zebulon.org.uk for more details about urpmi.

I have configured "main", and I can see many packages like "kernel-source-2.6-****", but none with my exact kernel (2.6.8.1-12mdk). By the way, I am still running Mandrake (10.1 official) and not Mandriva.

OK, now I have managed to use again the installation CDs. The source code I needed was there on CD3. Thank you jib2.

Just FYI the reason you had this problem is that you haven't been updating the kernel - you have to do it manually with
Code:
urpmi.update -a
urpmi kernel
as the normal mandrake update procedure doesn't do it. Any other package, including the kernel-source package, will automatically be updated to the latest version which is why you get that version mismatch between the kernel-source and the kernel packages.

Thank you very much for your information. But are you really sure that updating the kernel is always that easy? I never did it because I fear that many of my items will have to be re-installed or re-configured (ADSL modem, NVIDIA graphic drivers, etc.)

The only ones you'll have to reinstall are closed source drivers that you've installed manually after the installation. So yes the Nvidia drivers will probably need to be reinstalled.
