DVD-ROM drive only reads CDROMs after upgrade to 10.0
I recently upgraded from 9.2 to 10. community
The Benq DVD-ROM drive only works now with CDROMs. If I put in a DVD and try to get the contents I get a message: 'Mount: Wrong Medium Type' 'Please check that the disk is entered correctly' Reading CDROMss is fine. I am sure the problem relates to the famous FSTAB file. If I go to K3b & right mouse click on the DVD-ROM icon and select 'Disk Info', K3b shows the title of the DVD disk and how full it is. I have tried enabling and disabling supermount and the 'no auto' options in the Mdk Control Centre. Whatever I do doesn't cure the problem. I have searched google and other Linux website forums for clues on FSTAB without much success. I mean there are plenty of hits, but none describe my symptoms. :-( Here's the snippet from my FSTAB file: umask=0,user,iocharset=iso8859-15,codepage=850,no /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom auto auto,ro,exec 0 0 /dev/hdd /mnt/cdrom2 auto user,iocharset=iso8859-1,unhide,ro 0 0 /dev/hdc is my CDR/W drive (which works fine) /dev/hdd is the DVD-ROM drive Any suggestions gratefully received.
