In short, there are some copyright issues with the decryption of DVD's and Mandrake that they cannot include in the CD's. If you installed a fresh copy of Mandrake, you will need to download (URPMI) it from the PLF (Penguin Liberation Front) source. Search for libdvdcss and anything related to libdvd as you will need these to view DVD's. Before you do this, though, install your media players. I'm not sure which one you use, but I use Kaffeine. You might also check out MPlayer and Xine.

In Short:

1) install the media player of your choice, if not already.
2) set up your URPMI sources, with attention to PLF sources
3) urpmi libdvd and download things related to that
4) You should then be set to watch DVD's, if all goes well.
