dualboot/ two HDs

Let MDK 10.0 install itself on one HD with Wxp already loaded and that worked just fine.

Now, on different PC, would like to install Wxp on 1 HD and MDK 10.0 on second HD, but reading conficting FAQs about the boot process.

1. Should I load each OS on a HD individually with that HD in the master position, then after both OSs are loaded, install as master and slave and use the BIOS to select boot order or:

2. Will LILO allow me to select the second HD for the MDK 10 install after Wxp is loaded on 1st HD, and if so, should I put LILO on the MBR of the 1st (Wxp) HD since BIOS boot order will be 1st HD?

Thanks for any help

I'd suggest you install windows to the master HD first.
Then boot from the Mandrake CD, and tell it to install on the slave HD (probably hdb ). If you are uncertain about what choices Mandrake is making, select "Custom Partitioning" to make sure it is not going to try to use free space on your windows disk. Then let Mandrake put lilo on the MBR of hda.
There is no need to swap discs from Master <-> Slave. Lilo will give you boot options of Win / Linux.
