I have Mandrake 10.0 Official (NOT the download edition) hooked up through a sbcglobal.net DSL account. I am trying to access the internet through a SpeedStream DSL modem, but no success. I ran through the internet connection manager in the Mandrake Control Center to set up the connection (ADSL with PPPoE). During the wizard, I was asked to insert CD1 and click OK. I did so, but the CD was ejected and CD1 was requested again. This goes on forever until I click Cancel. The wizard finishes, but no connection. What does this mean? The only solution I can think of is to buy a router and let it handle the connection management for me. I'd prefer not to have to buy a router if possible. I would greatly appreciate any tips, pointers, or solutions. Thanks!

Do you have a second CD-ROM or DVD drive you could try reading the cd from? That might be a work around. You might also try cleaning the CD.

Also, if it tells you what package it is trying to install, you might be able to download it and install it that way.

No other CD-Rom is available to use. I'm not sure what file the setup is trying to install, but I'll check on that and see if I can locate it on the CD. Thank you very much for the tip.
