Does any one use URPMI/RPMDRAKE?

For those that don't know about URPMI and RPMDRAKE your are missing out. URPMI will locate and install RPM packages for you, it also will resolve and install any dependencies at the same time.

If you haven't used this tool, go to easy urpmi to set it up. then use the graphic tool RPMDRAKE (install software under "configuration -> packaging") if you need to update the available file list just right click in the left pain of the "sofware packages installation" window and click on update sources.

I have found that PLF and Texstar has almost any software package you may want. You can also get a PGP public key from them if you want to make sure the package is safe.

Mandrake also has mirrors that you can configure the main package source for. You can then uncheck disk 1, 2, and 3 under software source manager and save it. RPMDRAKE will then install packages that are on those disks from the net instead of asking you to insert your CDs, I'm sort of lazy and don't like to get them out.

If you already know about this, sorry for taking up your time. For newbies I hope you find this useful.

Yes, urpmi works well, once you have it all setup. You can also do your updating from the cli,
man urpmi.
