Do we need a tips sticky

I was just reading a post here about PC speakers and success getting them to work, and I thought that is the sort of thing that should be stickied here as it really only applies to mandrake / mandriva

do you others feel we need a mandriva tips sticky

often, you can click on the "report this to moderator" and request it be stickied.

yes, but if we did that for every good tip we would end up with pages of stickies, whereas if we have just one thread for Mandrake / Mandriva specific tips then all the tips can be moved there and we can refer newbies to tip thread page xyz and there is your answer.

I don't envision that this should replace the wiki or anything, just a collection of tips. It should be locked I think and tips can be posted in the forum and people can report it to be merged / moved into the "tip sticky" if it is helpful and useful.

So start one. Start a thread collecting tips together and request it be stickied. Similar to in the slackware and debian forums. They have tips stickies that were started by users, and, being so good, they were stickied.

I think it is a great idea btw.

We also have a Tutorial section that is crying out for this sort of thing. No one ever reads stickies anyway.

or of course, mandriva seems to be under-represented in the linuxquestions wiki.
